The works on this page began in the late spring of 2010 when I decided to try a drawing with some felt-tip pens that I have. I'd never really liked them. The point seemed too broad to control effectively. For whatever reason though I found myself quite comfortable with them this time. All of the the drawings from 2010 are very small, 6x9 inches. In 2011 I've started to do some larger works. One possible explanation for my new-found comfort with them is that I'm actually more at ease drawing birds. I've been at it for over four years and I have become more comfortable with them. That makes it easier to use felt-tip pens and not be as bothered by lack of precise control.
